SWHAP was launched in Uganda on 16 February 2007. Currently, two companies are participating in the programme: Ericsson and Scania, together employing about 105 workers. Ericsson has a fully structured programme with policy, awareness and VCT. During 2010, the company participated in the Global Business Coalition Award in the category of Community Outreach and was shortlisted among the Best Overall. Ericsson Uganda mentored Ericsson Ghana to establish a SWHAP-supported programme in 2010. Scania in Uganda is a branch from Scania Kenya. The company has trained Peer Educators and conducted awareness sessions and VCT.
